Alternatives to Animal Testing:

Animal testing Research:

I am continuing my research within animal testing and I've started to gather together some references and facts that can beneficial for my project.

As I want to raise awareness about how animal testing is still an on-going issue, I've decided to research into what the alternatives could be.

The websites that I've used for my research are from PETA and The Humane Society campaigns. The PETA website has given useful information based on how it has gone in full depth about different alternatives. The  Humane Society website has briefly gone through the same alternatives and has added a few facts based on the topic of animal testing and cosmetics.

Based on using Cosmetics, the alternatives to Animal Testing are:

- In Vitro Testing:

This method is where researchers have made chips that contain human cells. This chip copies the functions and structures of human organs. This type of test can be used instead of relying on animals for: drug testing, toxicity testing and for diseases.

- Human Patient Simulators:

This method uses computer models that are simulators which can bleed, breath, talk and 'die'. This computer simulator copies illnesses and injuries. The PETA donated a simulator to replace/reduce the uses animals within testing.
